Thus far, despite Thompson's efforts, Valkyrie's queerness hasn't been made clear onscreen. In the comics' 'The Fearless Defenders' series, Valkyrie is clearly bisexual and has a relationship with the female anthropologist Annabelle Riggs. 'As new king, she needs to find her queen,' Thompson said.
During Marvel Studio's Hall H panel at Comic-Con in 2019, Tessa Thompson finally confirmed that her character, Valkyrie, will be openly queer in the upcoming film, 'Thor: Love and Thunder.'
